The Kompitsi fountain was built by the Romans in the 17th Century when the Ionian Islands were under Venetian rule. It is a very good example of Baroque architecture. It is located at the top of Kompitsi hill near an old Venetian farmhouse and it supplied the whole village with water. The small cobbled grassy path from the village down to the fountain is beautiful.
