Kalami is a small resort in the North East about 40 minutes by car from Corfu town. Here you will find the White House where Gerald Durrell a famous English naturalist, zookeeper, conservationist and writer once lived. His books ‘My family and other Animals’, ’Birds, Beasts and Relatives’ and ‘The garden of the Gods’ where inspired by the time he spent here with his family. The white house has now been turned into a restaurant and apartments. Along the beautiful pebble beach and along the road you will find plenty of shops, bars and tavernas, there are also water sports facilities and you can also hire boats from here.
