On Wednesday, 30 July, the Superyacht Topaz was seen moored quayside at Corfu’s New Port. The vessel was launched in 2012 and at 147 metres long is the fifth largest privately-owned motor yacht in the world (the Azzam is currently the world’s largest at 180 metres). Built in Bremen, Germany, the Topaz’s design owns much to Rutland-based Tim Heywood, and features eight floors of luxury accommodation. Its cost is estimated to have been in excess of 400 million euros, but the identity of the owner is unknown.
Prior to its Corfu visit, the Topaz called at Gibraltar, and it was subsequently logged in the Tyrrhenian Sea off the west coast of Italy.
Let’s hope the mysterious passengers spent loadsa dosh.
