Glyfada Beach is a beautiful stretch of golden sands with beautiful clear waters and is located on the west coast about 15km from Corfu town and can be reached by car in about 30 minutes. You approach the beach via a winding road set into the cliff that drops into Glyfada beach, the road down is good and it is often used by coaches. Most of the parking belongs to the tavernas or apartments set along the beach however at parts you can park along the road if you are just visiting. Glyfada does get extremely busy during the summer months and is worth getting there early for a good parking space. There is a large hotel complex set on the right hand side of the beach which is all inclusive and is not open to non-residents however there are plenty of tavernas, Bars and shops that cater to the independent traveller. The clear waters make it ideal for snorkelling and there is a good range of water sports. The beach has some stunning scenery and there are dramatic cliffs rising all around covered in lush vegetation and beautiful trees. The Corfu trail runs within this area so there are plenty of wonderful walking opportunities here.
